Who We Are

A local church

partnering with Jesus

for the renewal of the city.

A local church

A local church

We want to put the "local" back in local church. Loneliness, isolation, and the dark and broken forces that come with them are plaguing our city and the people who live in it. We believe the need of the hour is a committed community of people who live in proximity with one another and take ownership for their neighbors and city.

Partnering with Jesus

Partnering with Jesus

God has come, in and through the person and work of Jesus, to rescue people from sin, Satan, death and hell for the sake of renewing and restoring all things and establishing the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. We believe that mission continues today through His people, the Church, in the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not passive recipients or spectators to the mission of Jesus; we are actually invited to engage in active partnership with Jesus!

For the renewal of the city

For the renewal of the city

We believe the Church is meant to be good for the whole city. As people are transformed by Jesus, they are sent back out to be agents of transformation where they live, work, and play. We long to see the whole city transformed and made whole by Jesus - one heart, home, and neighborhood at a time!

Our Pursuits

Some people call them values; we call them pursuits. These are at the core of our hearts. Our pursuits are what fuel our vision and stoke our passion.

We see a church where Jesus is the fuel, focus, & foundation. Where His message is preached & his example is followed. Where encountering Him is normal & expected. Where nothing & no one else is at the center. Where our passion & devotion are solely for Him, His name, His kingdom.

We see a church where people with a past experience forgiveness, religious people experience freedom, broken people experience healing, & all people experience the radical love & grace of God in Jesus. Where men, women, children, & future generations are changed deeply & permanently.

We see a church where deep, authentic, & genuine belonging contradicts the shallowness and isolation that have come to define this cultural moment. Where saints, sinners, skeptics, & seekers can “come & see” Jesus to consider his claims, be invited to his table, & become part of his family.

We see a church where the collective people of Jesus represent him well in our city & collaborate together to love our neighbors & advance good. Where we invest our time, energy, efforts, & resources to see darkness pushed back in the lives of our neighbors & the place we call home.

We see a church where mission & multiplication are not our duty but our delight—our sacred privilege—flowing out of the heart of God, through his people, across our city & all over the world. Where we pray, work, disciple, & send to see the mission & message of Jesus go to more people & places.

This is the church we see. We pray you see it too.

Essential Beliefs

"In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, liberty. In everything, love." -Augustine

As followers of Jesus, we seek to hold tightly to the historic teachings and ethics found in the Scriptures and embodied in the life and ministry of Jesus Himself.

Because of His great love, God our Creator has come in and through the person and work of Jesus Christ, to rescue people from sin, Satan, death and hell for the sake of renewing and restoring all things and establishing the Kingdom of Heaven on earth through His people, the Church, in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is for God's great glory and our deep joy.

Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ is necessary for personal redemption and restored relationship with God and one another. The payment and performance necessary for one to be saved was secured by Jesus Christ through His sinless life, sacrificial death, and subsequent resurrection from the dead. This reconciliation to God through salvation is available to anyone who repents of their sin and through faith confesses Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

We believe the Holy Scriptures (composed of Old and New Testaments) are God’s revelation of Himself and His Kingdom to man and that they are true and authoritative. We make this claim because we believe God divinely inspired the original authors through the Holy Spirit to pen them.

Whereas we believe God to be present and active within and among us, we do not subscribe to any notion that suggests God would ever contradict what the Scriptures have historically penned for us in practice and belief. Therefore, Scripture serves not only as inspiration into the life of God, but also as guardrails for us to know the will of God and test the trustworthiness of all things.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic (universal; including all believers) Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceedeth from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. I believe in one holy catholic (universal; including all believers) and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

We believe the Gospel is God’s good news for the whole world, and we are determined by his grace to obey Christ’s commission to proclaim it to all mankind and to make disciples of every nation. We desire, therefore, to affirm our faith and our resolve, and to make public our covenant. Click here to read the rest.

This commitment is the fruit or outworking of the Lausanne Covenant. It is our beliefs in action. It is a prophetic call that we hope will draw churches, mission agencies, seminaries, Christians in the workplace, and student fellowships on campus to embrace it, and to find their part in its outworking.
