The Odgers Family

Blake and Katie Odgers have been together since 2017 but their hearts and imaginations were captivated by Jesus long before then. During college, Blake developed a deep love and burden for the local church that eventually progressed into a vision and passion for church planting and multiplication. While dating, God aligned Blake and Katie's hearts toward this joint calling. They were married in 2020 shortly after Blake entered a church planting residency at an incredible church in northwest Atlanta where they were given the necessary tools and experiences to begin actively pursuing the calling God had placed on their lives. After four years on staff developing the vision for their church as well as leading and pastoring college students and young adults, they are excited to be back in the city preparing to launch Kingdom City Church on September 14, 2025.

A Word from Pastor Blake

A Word from Pastor Blake

I was 16 years old, living on the east side of Metro Atlanta, when I encountered Jesus and gave my life to Him. I was 19 years old, going to college at Georgia State University in the heart of Atlanta, when I sensed a call to serve Jesus in full-time ministry. I was 21 years old, at a church in Atlanta, when that calling was clarified to church planting. That was the same year I met my future wife (at that same church in Atlanta).

My years of serving in ministry, my ordination as a pastor, and my studying and training for  church planting have all happened in this city. My relationship with my wife, our wedding, and the birth of our son have all happened in Atlanta. The significant moments–both beautiful and difficult–in my life and faith have happened in this city. I’m thankful that God has called and kept us here, in our city, to root and leverage our lives for its good and His glory.

I imagine that you’re probably like me. You want to become someone you’re proud of and live a life that counts for something. You want to have a healthy marriage and family that doesn’t pass brokenness to another generation. You want to experience deep, genuine relationships and make a meaningful difference in the place you call home. Unfortunately, so many of us have no idea if we’re doing that or how to even get started. If we’re honest, we’re just kind of guessing and hoping. I don’t think it has to be this way. I believe there is a God who made you, who loves you, and who has made a way for you to become the person you’re meant to become and live the life you’re meant to live. I believe He has revealed Himself in the person of Jesus and stepped into human history to go to great lengths at cost to Himself to give you all you need for life–both now and for eternity.

There are people who have moved their lives and families to share this good news with  you. There are people who have invested and sacrificed significant resources to impact people they may never meet in a city they will never live in. There are people who have spent hours in prayer for you, your family, and our community. Why? Because they, like me, have been loved and transformed by Jesus and are willing to leverage all they are and all they have so that others can encounter Him too. Whether you’ve never given Jesus the first chance or have called yourself a Christian for years, we believe there is more available to you in and through Jesus.

So, my friend, we invite you to join us. For this life to be understood, it must be tried. What if the love and grace of God is actually available to you? What if the life described and exemplified by Jesus can truly be lived and experienced? What if the kind of community described and exemplified by the New Testament Church can once again be revived and recovered? What if it can happen here and now with you, me, and our community?

There’s only one way to find out.  Come and see.
